I just cannot resist doing a review on this gadget once I laid my eyes on it even though it seems that the torrential season is over.
Water flood alarm!!! It is small but might come pretty handy especially to areas that are prone to flooding like Kelantan, Terengganu and the ever so surprisingly Johor.

Originally the alarm is to prevent flooding in a flat or basement where you place this water alarm detector with the humidity sensors facing downwards on the ground near your washing machine. It is also designed to be located near dishwasher, water pump, bathtub, aquarium, etc. However, theoretically I think we can also use it to indicate flooding especially during the night when no one is awake to notice that the rain had fall so heavy that it floods (it had happened to my neighbour in Johor).
The principal is simple enough, in case of leaking water, the humidity sensor will detect the fluctuation in the ambient relative humidity and will warn you instantly with a loud alarm tone. Although I wonder whether the sensitivity of the sensor is applicable here in Malaysia (it’s a very humid place), but this 9V powered device is a good shot for a safe mind… especially during those rainy days.

I remember when a water alert system used to just be called clouds.
