South Korea’s Hynix Semiconductor announced it has developed the world’s fastest and smallest one-gigabyte chip for mobile phones.
The new chip is capable of processing 1.6 GB of data per second, the company said. The company added that the chip-which can be applied to “ultra-small electronic devices and memory products”-would start production on a large scale in early 2008.
